Conferences and Dialogues on SDGs in Partnerships with the Government, Research Institutes and NGOs

1. DIU Chairman Attended and Presented Keynote on Student wellbeing, life project and employability at IAUP Regional Meeting 2022

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of Daffodil International University (DIU) attended the regional meeting of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) 2022 and represented Bangladeshi Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in this prestigious global platform in Colombia from September 28 to 30, 2022. Dr. Khan presented a keynote on “Today’s Higher Education key value proposition: Student wellbeing, life project and employability”. The theme of the regional meeting was “Recovery and Transformation: New Challenges for Higher Education Leaders”. For three days, the higher education leaders from around the world came together to discuss highly relevant topics that contribute to the enhancement of senior leadership in the context of current trends and future needs.

2. Organized the ‘3Zeros Exposure Program’
Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh and Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), Thailand jointly organized the ‘3Zeros Exposure Program’ on November 11, 2021; where renowned activists in the field of Social Business joined as the resource persons to conduct lecture and virtual visit sessions for the students of PIM to give a rise to the distinct concept of 3ZERO. The main purpose of this program was to bridging the young minds, zeroing poverty , unemployment and net carbon emissions to make a livable world.

3. DIU Delegation Attended the ‘Magna Charta Observatory’ Living Values Project meeting and workshop
A delegation of Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh led by Dr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration) actively attended the 3-day ‘Magna Charta Observatory’ Living Values Project meeting and workshop hosted by Stockholm University, Sweden from 20 to 22 June, 2022 with the objectives of reviewing and developing the Living Values methodology, sharing experience on practical aspects of autonomy, academic freedom and putting values into practice along with meeting among ambassadors and paired universities to start working together.


All the participating university members interacted with leading international speakers on academic freedom, university autonomy and studied how the project had brought benefits in previous phases. They learnt from President of Stockholm University, Professor Astrid Söderbergh Widding along with other distinguished speakers about their insights and best practices of similar previous Living Values and started forming into a global group that will bring benefits to MCO signatories for years to come. DIU is one of the active members of Magna Charta Observatory since 2018 and actively engaged in the initiatives to bring core values of education in institutional strategic priority and towards community.

4. Attended the Erasmus+ Harmony Project’s Meeting on “Internationalization and Virtual Exchange: Borderless between European Union and Asian Countries”

A delegation of Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh participated and contributed to the Erasmus+ Harmony Project’s Meeting on “Internationalization and Virtual Exchange: Borderless between European Union and Asian Countries” hosted by Varna University of Management (VUM), Bulgaria which was held at the end of June 2022. The objective of the 3-day interactive meeting was to share our progress report of the initiatives and learn about Friends TeaHouses practices among project member universities in Bangladesh, Bulgaria, India, Lithuania, Spain, Slovenia and Vietnam.

The EU Harmony project aims to support the modernization, accessibility and internationalization of higher education institutions like DIU and other partners of the project. Mr. Syed Raihan-Ul-Islam, Senior Assistant Director, International Affairs, DIU presented DIU’s progress on Internationalization and Harmony project activities to the EU Harmony Consortium member universities and Dr. Rafael de Miguel, Coordinator of Harmony Project praised DIU for continuing the project activities in the meeting.

5. DIU Team attended the 32nd Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2022
To enhance internationalization and enlarge the global network for partnership, a team of Daffodil International University attended the 32nd Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition 2022 that took place from 13–16 September at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, Barcelona, Spain. DIU delegation conducted collaborative discussion meetings with hundreds of HEI leaders and officials from different universities of the world for academic exchanges, partnership, joint Erasmus Projects, Internship, Scholarships and more. EAIE is the Europe's largest international higher education conference that brings experts of Internationalization to share and exchange the ideas among all for new opportunities. Hopefully the participation and meetings will bring many more new opportunities for the students of Daffodil International University in the coming days.

6. DIU Organized Roundtable Discussion on "Land Law Studies, Land Tenure, Protection, and Development"

Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a roundtable discussion on land law studies, land tenure, protection, and development at the BoT conference room of Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia, Dhaka. The roundtable discussion was attended by Mr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman PAA, Honorable Secretary, Ministry of Land, Dr. Amitavh Sarker, Honorable Chairman (Secretary to the Govt.), Land Appeal Board, Ministry of Land, Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean, Academic Affairs, DIU, Mr. Md. Afzal-ur Rahman, Honorable Secretary in-Charge, Bangladesh Bar Council, Dr. Md. Alamgir, Joint District & Sessions Judge and Deputy Director (Training) Bangladesh Judicial Administration Training Institute, Barrister A K Rashedul Huq, Advocate, Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Ms. Christine Richardson, Associate Professor, Department of Land Management and Law, Jagannath University, Ms. Rafea Khatun, Assistant Professor, Department of Land Management and Law, Jagannath University, Dr. Kudrat-E-Khuda Babu, Professor and Head of the Department of Law, DIU, Dr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director, Administration and Khandker Dider us Salam, Assistant Professor of law. Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU expressed vote of thanks to the discussants for attending the programme. Mr. Md. Riaduzzaman, Assistant Professor of Law and Director of Daffodil Legal Research Centre moderated the roundtable discussion.

7. DIU Chairman Participated as a Keynote Speaker at the `World Rector’s Forum’
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, DIU participated as a keynote speaker at the `World Rector’s Forum’. In developing the national innovation ecosystems, the higher education institution can take a lead role and considering the fact with highest priority, the global Education Leaders joined a very important conference of the World Rectors Forum in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The chairman of the board of trustees at Daffodil International University of Bangladesh, Dr. Mr. Akylbek Japarov, Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic was present at the event as the Chief Guest while Dr. Almaz Beishenaliev, Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic moderated the Forum. Dr. Khan made keynote presentation on 'Entrepreneurship Development in Higher Education'.

Partnered with San Pedro College (SPC), Philippines to Organize Global Social Business Spring Camp (GSBSC)
San Pedro College (SPC), Philippines in collaboration with Daffodil International University (DIU) Bangladesh jointly organized 3 days long Global Social Business Spring Camp (GSBSC) 2022 from March 29 to 31, 2022 on a virtual platform for more than 60 international participants. The program featured lectures, cross-cultural activities, learning assessment on BLC platform, peer activity, etc. Resource Persons from both institutions delivered lectures for the participants to learn about the social business concept in a global platform.

Innovative entrepreneurial minded participants utilized the networking and knowledge sharing opportunities during the program to create more social coherence for a better world. Social Business Students' Forum (SBSF) and Yunus Social Business Center (YSBC) of DIU were the collaborative partners of GSBSC 2022 supported by International Affairs, DIU
