Relationships with regional NGOs and government for SDG policy

Collaboration with Government for policy advocacy on premarital sexual behavior and associated risk on reproductive health Research
Dr. Md. Kamrul Hossain, Associate Professor of DIU, as a consultant, collaborated with the Planning Commission under Ministry of Planning, Government People's Republic of Bangladesh in research on premarital sexual behavior and associated risk on reproductive health. He also delivered a presentation on the perception of female students of universities on premarital sexual behavior and associated risk on reproductive health at the Social Science Research Council of the Planning Commission highlighting the findings and recommendations of the research project. The findings of the research project will pave the way for reducing the risk associated with premarital sex and reproductive health of females.

Collaboration with Bangladesh Medical Research Council under the Ministry of Health, GoB

The Public Health Department of DIU has been conducting a research project entitled “Health Problems of University Students Due to Smartphone Addiction" in collaboration with the Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh (GoB). Prof. Dr. Md. Shahjahan from the Public Health Department of DIU is leading the project to identify the health-related problems resulting from excessive use of smartphones and how the problem can be solved. The recommendations of the research projects will be taken into consideration while formulating relevant national policies by the Government.



National HR Summit at DIU

Daffodil International University organized the National HR summit in collaboration with a2i (Aspire to Innovate) and supported by the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and the Bangladesh Society of Human Resources Management (BSHRM). ICT secretary Md Shamsul Arefin was present as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, while Mohd Monirul Islam, additional secretary, SDG affairs, Prime Minister’s Office, Mohammad Nuruzzamn, CEO, Daffodil Family, Tapan Kanti Sarker, president CTO Forum, Mohammad Mashequr Rahman Khan, president Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Development Anir Chowdhury, policy adviser, Aspire to Innovate, were present as special guests. Faculty, students, high officials along with HR professionals of various universities and business organizations attended the summit.

Contribution to the Development of National Secondary Education Policy

Dr. Md. Kamrul Hossain, Associate Professor of Daffodil International University as an expert contributed to the Development of National Secondary Education Policy. He has collaborated with the relevant Government Ministries and Departments of Bangladesh.
