Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy

As a responsible institution, Daffodil International University (DIU) is committed to conducting its activities in an ethical and transparent manner. DIU strictly prohibits any form of bribery or corruption, both within and outside the organization. This policy outlines DIU’s zero-tolerance approach towards bribery and corruption, and it applies to all employees, contractors, agents, and anyone else acting on behalf of DIU.

1. The objective of this policy is to:

1.1. Ensure compliance with applicable anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws and regulations.

1.2. Demonstrate DIU's commitment to ethical business practices and maintaining a corruption-free environment.

1.3. Protect the reputation, integrity, and interests of DIU and its stakeholders.

2. Definitions:

2.1. Bribery: The offering, promising, giving, accepting, or soliciting of an undue advantage, financial or otherwise, to influence the actions or decisions of an individual in a position of trust.

2.2. Corruption: The abuse of entrusted power for personal gain or benefit.

2.3. Facilitation Payments: Small bribes made to expedite or secure routine administrative actions.

3. Prohibited Conduct:

3.1. Bribery and Corruption: DIU strictly prohibits any form of bribery, corruption, or facilitation payments, whether directly or indirectly, and in all business dealings, both within and outside the organization.

3.2. Gifts and Hospitality: Employees must not offer or accept gifts, entertainment, or hospitality that could reasonably be seen as intended to influence decisions or actions.

3.3. Conflicts of Interest: Employees must disclose any personal, financial, or other interests that may conflict, or appear to conflict, with their responsibilities to DIU.

3.4. Donations and Sponsorships: DIU will only make donations and sponsorships that are legal, ethical, and consistent with its social responsibility objectives.

4. Responsibilities:

4.1. DIU management is responsible for fostering a culture of compliance and providing leadership to ensure the effective implementation of this policy.

4.2. All employees must familiarize themselves with this policy, act in accordance with its provisions. Employees are encouraged to report any suspected or actual instances of bribery or corruption through DIU's designated reporting channels.

4.3. The Disciplinary committee of DIU will investigate all reported allegations of bribery and corruption. If substantiated, appropriate disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment, will be taken.

4.4. The office of the Proctor under the guidance of the Disciplinary committee of DIU will arrange regular training on this policy to ensure employees understand their obligations and the consequences of non-compliance.

4.5. The Disciplinary committee of DIU will monitor compliance with this policy and periodically review its effectiveness to ensure it remains relevant and up to date.

5. This policy is intended to be consistent with applicable anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations. In cases where local laws are more stringent than this policy, employees must comply with the stricter requirements.
