Daffodil International University distributed 1,100 plants to the Birulia Union community as part of our commitment to a greener future. 2. DISS: Nurturing Vulnerable Children for a Sustainable Tomorrow
Daffodil Institute of Social Sciences (DISS), a non-profit organization with a mission to uplift extremely poor and underprivileged children, inaugurated its new building on November 14, 2022. DISS aims to nurture these children into valuable contributors to society while emphasizing values and respect. It represents a commitment to creating a brighter, more sustainable future for underprivileged children. Prof. Dr. Achyut Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS inaugurated the new building of DISS.

5. JEEBIKA (Livelihood Project), Chandpur: Contribution towards Poverty Alleviation & Zero Hunger
6. COLLABORATION BETWEEN DIU & BARI
Daffodil International University (DIU) and BARI- Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute have signed a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)! This partnership aims to advance agricultural research, technology transfer, and innovation.
7. 3 MILLION paddy seedlings
The students and faculty of the Department of Agricultural Science, DIU have initially started the work of making seedlings of BINA Rice-20 to avoid the post-flood food crisis. The Department is hopeful of successfully producing 3 MILLION paddy seedlings. Later, the seedlings will be distributed to the farmers in the flood-affected areas after the flood waters dry up.

10. DIU OFFERS FULL FREE SCHOLARSHIP FOR ๐๐ FEMALE STUDENTS FROM PALESTINE
H.E. Mr. Yousef S.Y. Ramadan, Ambassador to the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh from the State of Palestine visited Daffodil International University and held a discussion with top management of the university. During his visit, Daffodil International University offered Full Free Scholarships for 50 female students from Gaza, Palestine.

12. An MoU has been signed between “Pacific Solar” and DIU on OPEX based solar system for DIU. Under the agreement the Pacific Solar is going to install “3 Megawatt” solar system at DIU campus.

20. Daffodil Agro Complex
Establishing Daffodil Agro complex to spread production, research and extension of different kinds of organic fruits
Daffodil Agro complex was established in 2017 for the conservation, development, production, research and extension of different kinds of organic fruits. This project has been started with the financial assistance of Daffodil International University in order to develop societal, academic and skill based professionals under Agro Sectors of the country. Most of the fruit plants are broad leaved and evergreen which will absorb more CO 2 and release more O 2 consequently will ensure clean and healthy environment.
Goals and objectives:
Ø To conserve the fruit germplasm resources;
Ø To maintain the germplasm center as a facility for education research and training;
Ø To supply quality planting materials to various organizations and farmers;
Ø To collect major and minor fruit varieties from home and abroad;
Ø To develop improve variety through collection, conservation, evaluation and characterization;
Ø To create new variety through conventional, mutational and biotechnological breeding methods;
Ø To collect and carry out research on medicinal fruit plants;
Ø To develop successful model and innovative technology for fruit tree managements;
Ø To offer training for efficiency build-up of Govt., NGO’s officials and farmers;
Ø To create a great demand of different fruits all over the country and also contribution in the field of malnutrition and poverty alleviation;
Ø To serve as a recreation center as a green space;
Ø To the fulfilling the demand of planting materials of fruits;
Ø Establishment of technical linkage and coordination with other government line agencies, research organizations and INGO/NGOs for implementing fruit development programs;
Ø To provide technical support to the farmers and entrepreneurs for commercialization of fruit and vegetable development programs;
Ø To develop and discriminate broad leaved and evergreen fruit trees for clean environment
Ø To establish one stop service for fruits and/or other agro products/inputs and services

21. Innovation Lab
Daffodil International University, for the first of its kind in Bangladesh, has set up an Innovation Lab at its largest green campus. Innovation lab is the most state-of-the-art research and development lab in Bangladesh to facilitate creativity and innovations by the young generations, especially the students. The students will be able to explore new innovation opportunities and make experiments of their products as well as utilize the platform to implement their own ideas.
It is worth mentioning that Times Higher Education (THE) is a world university ranking authority, widely recognized internationally and considered to be a leading provider of higher education data. THE University Impact Rankings is a pioneering initiative to recognize universities across the world for their social and economic impact, based on the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). DIU’s inclusion in these rankings is itself a great achievement and it marks DIU as a global pioneer – demonstrating its commitment not just to supporting the SDGs through its teaching, research and knowledge transfer, but also to embodying the goals in DIU’s internal practices, policies and procedures and providing verifiable evidence of its activities.

22. Paper less practice
Daffodil International University is habituated with the paperless practice of holding various meetings, seminars and workshops. DIU always arranges its academic council meetings with paperless practice where each participant uses laptop containing all documents in soft copy using e-meeting software. They also use the Google tools such as Google Doc, Google Sheet, Google Slides etc. to work collaborate among themselves.
