3. Psychological session on “Prevent Suicide: Be a Lifesaver”

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in every year close to 800 000 people die due to suicide, which is one person every 40 seconds. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15–29-year-old globally. Thus, suicide is considered a major public health concern but unfortunately, it is often neglected by us. However, suicides are preventable with timely if the person with suicidal thought receive the caring support they need to. To discuss this, DIU Psychological center organized the live psychological session on “Prevent Suicide: Be a Lifesaver” (related to SDG-3) on 17 July 2021.

4. Week-long Mental Health Awareness Program

Psychological Service Center of Daffodil International University organizes workshops/seminars regularly. In the context of COVID-19, well trained, qualified and experienced psychologists from the Psychological Counseling Center of DSA Office and some of our Faculty Members of DIU conducted the week-long Mental Health Awareness Program at DIU.
