Programmes to recruit students/staff/faculty from under-represented groups
  1. Comprehensive Employment and Welfare Policy

Daffodil International University has been practicing a Comprehensive Employment and Welfare Policy that protects the interest of underrepresented groups and no discrimination while making recruitment decisions at DIU. The following clause number 3.2. of the policy clearly mentioned its approach of non-discrimination with underrepresented group in employment at DIU:

                    3.2. DIU will support the philosophy and belief of non-discrimination in employment regarding race, color, physical disability, gender, religion, ethnic minority, castes & creed. The policy will attempt to make sure that equality of opportunity is an integral part of the whole recruitment process.

2. Encouraging Women in Research Career

Encouraging Female Applications in STEM/Research

The Department of CSE organized an event titled "Women in Research: Inspiring the Next Generation of Female Researchers" on April 12, 2025. The event featured speakers who shared their research journeys and experiences to encourage aspiring female researchers to dream bigger and aim higher. This initiative supports SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 5: Gender Equality by promoting and uplifting women in research.

 

3. Programmes to recruit students/staff/faculty from under-represented groups

Daffodil International University conducts several programs to facilitate recruitment of the students, staff and faculty who come from the underrepresented communities. DIU also offers them flexibility for their attachment with DIU. The university has adopted various provisions for providing suitable facilities for these communities including the financial benefits. A few of these facilities and events are presented below.

Employing disabled people and persons from Underrepresented group at DIU Campuses

  • Daffodil International University hires employees with partial disability (physically challenged, visually impaired, other forms of partial disability and impairments) who are contributing to the university and society as a stakeholder.
  • DIU actively promotes diversity and inclusion by employing individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds (Chakma, Marma).
  • This commitment enriches the university’s community, fostering a culture of understanding and varied perspectives.
  • DIU values the unique contributions of each individual, recognizing that a diverse workforce strengthens both the university and its mission to deliver inclusive education.
