International Collaborations on Gathering Data for Doing Research into SDGs and Innovations

1. Short Report on International Collaboration with WHO on National Malaria Elimination Program to Measure Data on Malaria
The project titled: Technical Support For the 5th Malaria Joint Monitoring Mission has been implemented by the Department of Public Health, DIU with the technical cooperation and funding from the World Health Organization (WHO). The main objective of the project is to review the progress of implementation of the National Strategic Plan 2021-2025 in coordination with external program reviewers and, ultimately, to further strengthen the foundation for malaria elimination in Bangladesh by 2030.
The project is expected to provide unbiased recommendations for the National Malaria Elimination efforts in the country. These recommendations will be based on their expert knowledge in key areas and based on the local context.

2. Collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh on Situation analysis including mapping of high-risk areas, service delivery points and modalities, partners and logistic supply in 4 City Corporations
DIU has a collaborative project with UNICEF Situation analysis including mapping of high-risk areas, service delivery points and modalities, partners and logistic supply in 4 City Corporations. The purpose is to conduct a situation analysis including mapping of high-risk areas, service delivery points and modalities, major challenges and gaps in services and geographic areas in 4 City Corporations. The assessment will also explore strategy and solutions that can be taken to scale to improve immunization equity and coverage, including differences among various vulnerable groups (ethnic groups, slum dwellers, mobile, etc.). The assessment findings will be primarily used by the targeted CCs to develop plans for immunization service delivery including PHC with quality and accountability for ensuring equitable services to all.

3. DIU’s Collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning to offer courses on (i) IOT, (ii) Data Analytics, (iii) Cybersecurity, and (iv) Digital Content Development
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and Daffodil International University (DIU) organized advanced ICT Skills Training for Employability from 22 April 2022. Four courses were offered: (i) IOT, (ii) Data Analytics, (iii) Cybersecurity, and (iv) Digital Content Development. Throughout this ICT skills program, the goal was to give learners a basic understanding of technology-based learning and help increase their employability and entrepreneurship rate and collect data and monitor and track accordingly.

4. International Collaborative Project with Proshanti UK on Technical Support to the Maternal and Child Health Project
The long-term ambition of Proshanti UK is to build a Healthy Living Centre in Juri. The Centre will combine free or affordable health care with disease prevention and health education. The overall purpose of the project is to relieve sickness and promoting and preserving good health, in particular but not exclusively, of people living in the Juri region of Bangladesh by supporting and establishing a healthy living centre. DIU is doing mid-term evaluation of the project, focusing primarily on i) Assessing existing demographic data and health conditions of the targeted community; ii) Establishing a sound, quantitative and qualitative base information by assessing the levels of awareness, knowledge, attitude and practices; iii) Use baseline data in measuring the changes over time, and iv) Set achievable and realistic targets of planned outputs and outcomes.

5. Publication of "Research Update" Highlighting DIU's Research Strength
The Launching Ceremony of the publication titled "Research Update (ISSN 2791-1225 print; 2791-1233 online)" was held on 16 August 2022, at the DIU premises at Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia, Dhaka. The newly established Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) of Daffodil International University organized the launching ceremony as the owner of this scholarly publication. The Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman and Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder of DIU, along with other dignitaries, unveiled the publication.The publication highlights DIU's overall research strength, international research networking and research trends in different disciplines; international research directions and latest innovations; promising funded research projects of DIU; and potential researchers with their research interests. The data presented in various chapters will hopefully be useful for the researchers and readers.

6. International Collaboration with KOICA and WBAF on entrepreneurship development
On February 20, 2022, a high-level delegation from KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) and WBAF (World Business Angel Investment Forum) visited Daffodil International University, Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia to explore possible collaboration in entrepreneurship development between KOICA and the university, particularly with the Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The visit was attended by a group of 13 high officials, including the Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh. The major goal of the meeting was to combine the strengths of two parties in order to promote & support entrepreneurs in every way possible.
