Daffodil International University (DIU) has demonstrated a firm commitment to bridging the gap between academic knowledge and real-world impact, making strides in research that drives sustainable community development. This commitment was recently exemplified through an impact evaluation conducted by a team of DIU faculty members and researchers on the Jeebika I & II projects in Chandpur, Bangladesh. The Jeebika projects, - a Livelihoods Enhancement Project, is dedicated to improving the socio-economic stability of vulnerable populations. Through initiatives that empower individuals with financial independence, skill development, and essential resources, the project aims to uplift marginalized communities, helping them build sustainable and resilient livelihoods.
DIU’s impact evaluation of the Jeebika project exemplifies the transformative power of grassroots development and community-driven research. Through their assessment, DIU researchers have documented the project’s positive effects on income, health, education, and social cohesion, providing valuable insights into how development initiatives can achieve sustainable, long-lasting impact.
Climate Diplomacy Workshop Held at Young Negotiator Programme
Mr. Amir Hamza, Assistant Director of HRDI, represented HRDI as a trainer at this pre-COP event, organized by LCOY Bangladesh and hosted by GAIN. During this 3-day workshop, Mr. Hamza led a session on staying focused on critical environmental issues, preparing young negotiators for high-level climate discussions. HRDI is proud to support initiatives that foster future leaders in climate diplomacy.
ICT Training for Healthcare Professionals
DIU conducted ICT training for health professionals at the Directorate General of Medical Education, aimed at enhancing their digital literacy and effective use of technology in healthcare. This training is designed to improve healthcare delivery by integrating modern ICT tools into everyday medical practices, significantly contributing to SDG 4: Quality Education. By equipping healthcare professionals with essential digital skills, we promote lifelong learning and enhance the quality of education and training in the medical field, ultimately leading to better health outcomes.
DIU and National Liver Foundation Collaborate on the NOhep Village Initiative
The Department of Public Health at Daffodil International University (DIU) has partnered with the National Liver Foundation of Bangladesh (NLFB) to collaborate on the NOHep Village initiative. This collaboration aims to raise awareness, promote liver health, and prevent hepatitis in communities across Bangladesh. This collaboration also supports SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by working to improve health equity across communities, particularly by addressing and preventing hepatitis in underserved areas, which can reduce health disparities.

HRDI conducted its 4-day long Essential English for Business Writing training for ACI Limited personnel. The skills training was led by Ms. Tahsina Yasmin, Associate Professor of English and Additional Director at HRDI. The day 1 offered professionals a great opportunity to refine their business email writing skills.
HRDI’s Professional English Communication Training at Data Crafters
HRDI has launched its Professional English Communication Training in partnership with Data Crafters, marking our second collaboration. On day one, participants underwent an English Proficiency Assessment focused on Business and Job Communication, with interactive, game-based learning using tools like Quizizz. Led by Ms. Tahsina Yasmin, participants are now on the path to enhancing their business communication skills.

Innovative Faculty Training Embraces Outdoor-Based Learning
DIU's Fall '23 Faculty Training on August 24th highlighted effective classroom management and the innovative Outdoor-Based Classrooms (OBC) approach. Educators explored high academic and behavior expectations, engaging lesson delivery, and fostering a strong classroom culture. This initiative supports SDG 4 (Quality Education) by integrating nature with learning, thanks to insightful presentations by Emran Khan and Amir Hamza.

Safety and Security Management Training for Mitsubishi Motors BD employees
On August 18th, HRDI-DIU conducted a comprehensive training for Mitsubishi Motors BD employees. Led by experts of this field, the session covered fire safety, first aid, emergency evacuation, theft protection, and digital security. Through hands-on drills and interactive modules, participants were equipped to recognize hazards, create action plans, and improve communication for better preparedness. Educational Visits to Low-Income Settlements
DIU’s Department of Real Estate organizes educational visits to low-income settlements in Dhaka, allowing students to study the challenges of urban poverty firsthand. These visits include analyzing housing conditions, affordability, and available amenities, providing students with a deeper understanding of urban inequality and inspiring potential solutions. This outreach activity contributes to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and promotes experiential learning as part of SDG 4 (Quality Education)โ.
Free Healthcare Services for Marginalized Groups
In collaboration with Prothom Alo, DIU’s Daffodil Bandhushobha provided free healthcare to more than 200 underprivileged individuals. This initiative, part of a larger community engagement effort, included medical consultations and health education, enhancing access to healthcare and supporting SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 10โ.
