Access to DIU Educational Resources (Online Courses, library, lecture etc. by General Public and Local Communities)

1. Access to ‘Business English for Professionals’ Training Course
Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) of Daffodil International University is offering a course titled ‘Business English for Professionals’ in collaboration with Omni source Bangladesh with opportunity for all to access the course based on their competencies. The course is offered for SGS Bangladesh which is the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company. SGS was established in Bangladesh in 1974 and they are operating principally in Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna. They offer consumer testing, systems and services certification, and services for agricultural, government and institutions, oil, gas and chemicals, industrial and environmental projects.


The 7 week-long Business English course is offered for the first batch of 25 managerial personnel starting from 23 February 2022 at their office premises. At the informal opening ceremony Mohammad Abdur Rashid, Country Manager and Mohammad Abdul Quader, Manager, Human Resources of SGS Bangladesh expressed their expectations from the training and promised to offer whole-hearted support for the participants. The training is conducted by Ms. Tahsina Yasmin, Additional Director, HRDI, DIU.

2. DIU’s Collaboration with Commonwealth of Learning to offer courses on (i) IOT, (ii) Data Analytics, (iii) Cybersecurity, and (iv) Digital Content Development
The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and Daffodil International University (DIU) organized advanced ICT Skills Training for Employability from 22 April 2022. Four courses were offered: (i) IOT, (ii) Data Analytics, (iii) Cybersecurity, and (iv) Digital Content Development. Throughout this ICT skills program, the goal was to give learners a basic understanding of technology-based learning and help increase their employability and entrepreneurship rate and collect data and monitor and track accordingly.

3. Policy for Creating Opportunities for Local Communities for Accessing Library Resources

4. Public Access to training course on Regulatory Support Services for Business & Industry
The Department of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Industrial Innovation Centre (IIC) of DIU organized a 3-day long training course on Regulatory Support Services for Business & Industry from 27-29 August 2022. The course has been specially designed for the students both DIU and outside who like to develop their career as entrepreneurs. In addition to DIU faculty members and officials, the senior personnel of different industries delivered their lectures in this course as Resource Persons. The successful participants of the course were provided with Certificates.

5. Basic to Advanced MS Excel Training program
This Basic to Advanced MS Excel Training program is designed to efficiently manage spreadsheets and analyze data. The lessons are composed of some advanced Excel features. It assumes basic prior knowledge of Excel is known. The lessons talk about the advanced customization and formatting features that allow for easier data manipulation and organization. Anyone can access to this training course which is offered online through prior registration.

Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Apply advanced formulas to lay data in readiness for analysis
  • Use advanced techniques for report visualizations
  • Leverage on various methodologies of summarizing data understand and apply basic principles of laying out Excel models for decision-making
