Public Educational Events (Lifelong Learning)
The following events were hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU) that qualify as Public Educational Events or opportunities for Lifelong Learning, as they are explicitly open to the general public, external students, or professional sectors. These events demonstrate the university’s commitment to providing educational access beyond its enrolled student body.

A. Educational Competitions Open to External Students
These competitive events hosted by DIU serve as major educational platforms for students from other institutions.
● Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics (BdOI) National Round 2025:
DIU hosts this event which is open to school and college students from across the country. By hosting the National Round, DIU provides a high-stakes, specialized educational platform for non-university, pre-university students in computer science and algorithmic problem-solving. This prestigious competition brings together 42 top young programmers from 36 institutions across 14 districts, challenging them to showcase their algorithmic skills and problem-solving expertise.
The event fosters a spirit of excellence, pushing participants to tackle complex programming challenges that test their analytical and computational thinking. Professor Mobasser Monem, Chairman, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, along with other esteemed guests, making this a remarkable platform for the country’s brightest coding talents.
● Daffodil International University hosted the ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2024
Daffodil International University hosted the ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2024 at its university premises where a total of 306 teams from 148 educational institutes of Bangladesh participated. The participating teams got access to DIU computers, internet, and all other logistic support during the contest.
Over 306 teams showcased their brilliance in programming and problem-solving. The following teams got recognized in the contest:

🥈 1st Runner-Up: DU_Singularity (University of Dhaka)
🥉 2nd Runner-Up: DU_Primordius (University of Dhaka)
DIU_Strygwyr from Daffodil International University secured the 10th position
● 4th International Robo Tech Olympiad 2024:
This major competition attracted over 550 participants from 40+ external institutions, including students from other universities and high schools. It provided a direct, competitive, and educational platform for external students in robotics, engineering, and innovation.
● National Data Analytics Competition (NDAC 2025):
This flagship competition was open to external institutions, hosting 135 teams from 22 universities (public and private). It challenged participants to solve real-world problems using data analytics, AI, and machine learning, functioning as a high-value educational challenge for students from other institutions.
Major Conferences, Summits, and Specialized Forums
These large-scale events hosted on campus draw significant participation from external entities (industry, professionals, other institutions) and serve as expansive learning platforms.
● Industry-Academia Collaboration Summit 2025:
This transformative, two-day summit was a large-scale event that brought together over 50 experts from more than 40 external organizations and 2,000+ attendees. The primary focus was educational dialogue on the Future of Work and Industry 5.0, research commercialization, and bridging the gap between academia and industry. The extensive external participation confirms its function as a major professional lifelong learning event open to the public and industry community.
● DIU Pharma Career Expo-2025:
Hosted by the Department of Pharmacy, this two-day expo functioned as a massive professional development and educational forum. It attracted over 1000 participants (including external professionals and job seekers) and 20 leading pharmaceutical companies. The event's core included seminars and workshops emphasizing career pathways and the necessary skills to thrive in the pharmaceutical industry, providing essential lifelong learning to the professional community.
● Pre-COP29 Group Discussion: Advancing Sustainable Living & Green Economy:
Hosted in collaboration with the Global Law Thinkers Society, this event positioned DIU as a hub for civic education on climate change. It gathered policymakers, external youth advocates, and civil society representatives to discuss critical topics like climate action, green economy, and climate resilience, making it a high-level public educational forum accessible to the interested community.
● Special Discussion on "Dengue Prevention and Control":
DIU facilitated this crucial public health event, featuring key external experts (such as a professor from Jahangirnagar University) to disseminate life-saving information and emphasize "public awareness" regarding dengue prevention, treatment, and control. This serves a direct public service and educational function.
III. Open-Access Educational Programs and Forums
These events explicitly target the general public or professionals seeking focused knowledge and skill development.
● Seminar on "Quantum Computing"
Hosted by the Department of CSE, this seminar was explicitly advertised as "open-for-all", offering advanced, specialized educational access on the future of technology to any interested member of the public, fostering scientific literacy and lifelong learning outside traditional enrollment.
● Film for Change: A National Showcase:
Organized by the Department of JMC in collaboration with Oxfam, this "National Showcase" of films addressing themes like climate justice and gender rights was hosted on campus. The event used storytelling as a catalyst for social change, serving as a public education and awareness platform on critical societal issues.
