Hosted Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics 2024 National Round: Open to all school & College Students
The Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics 2024 National Round took place on April 26 and 27, 2024, at Daffodil Smart City, bringing together the brightest young programmers from across the country. This prestigious programming competition provided a platform for high school and college students passionate about coding to showcase their problem-solving skills and creativity in addressing complex programming challenges. Organized by Bangladesh Olympiad in Informatics and hosted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Daffodil International University (DIU), in collaboration with the DIU Computer and Programming Club (CPC) and sponsored by Dutch-Bangla Bank PLC, the event not only tested the computational abilities of young minds but also served as a stepping stone for future innovations in computer science. This initiative aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), fostering a community of excellence in programming and nurturing the next generation of innovators.
DIU Hosted Amio Jitte Chai - DIUDC National Debate Festival 2024
Amio Jitte Chai - DIUDC National Debate Festival 2024 was held at Daffodil Smart City. This exciting 3-day event, brings together 64 debate teams from schools and universities across Bangladesh. Participants will engage in debates on crucial national issues, cultural performances, and workshops, all aimed at empowering youth and promoting democratic values. With the support of Democracy International and key speakers from civil society, this festival promises to inspire and shape the voices of tomorrow.
DaffodilMUN'23 Conference
DIU hosted the DaffodilMUN'23, which brought together students from 25 universities, schools, and colleges for discussions on diplomacy and international relations. The event focused on fostering a culture of dialogue and understanding among young leaders, contributing to SDG 16 by encouraging peaceful and inclusive societies. “Daffodil International University Model United Nations Associations (DIUMUNA)” is a non-profit, voluntary youth and student movement. It is dedicated to convey the voice of the young generation regarding current global issues such as SDGs, human rights and development, environment, disarmament (demobilization), social justice etc.
DIU’s Multimedia AI Hackathon: A Catalyst for Innovation and Skill Development
Daffodil International University (DIU) made significant strides in promoting digital literacy and innovation by organizing Bangladesh’s first-ever Multimedia AI Hackathon. This event, aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, attracted a remarkable 830 submissions from talented individuals across the country. The hackathon focused on four key areas: AI-Based Image Generation, 3D Modeling, 2D/3D Animation, and Game Development. A rigorous selection process narrowed down the entries to 23 finalists, who showcased their innovative projects at the final presentation and awards ceremony. Industry leaders and academic experts graced the event, sharing their insights on the latest trends in the animation industry and the potential of AI in revolutionizing the creative field. The event also featured three insightful webinars on AI’s role in graphic design, 3D modeling, and animation, empowering participants with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the digital age.
DIU Fosters Programming Talent with Unlock the Algorithm Contest
Daffodil International University’s (DIU) Center for Programming Contest (CPC) hosted the Main Round of the Unlock the Algorithm Programming Contest, Spring 2024. The event, held at Daffodil Smart City, attracted a remarkable 315 talented students from various institutions who had emerged victorious from four rigorous preliminary rounds. The intense competition featured nine challenging programming problems. Md. Saimum Islam Hamza emerged as the champion, successfully solving eight of the problems. The contest was meticulously organized and conducted across 24 lab rooms, ensuring a smooth and fair environment for all participants.
