2. Organized Health Seminar on Coronavirus (COVID-19) as Part of Community Educational Initiative


With the emergence of deadly Coronavirus, the Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University and Cardio Care Specialized and General Hospital organized a ‘Health seminar on Coronavirus (COVID – 19)’ on 3rd March, 2020 at 71 Milonayoton of the university. The seminar was arranged as part of its community awareness and educational initiative and with a view to creating awareness on COVID-19 among the mass people of the country.
Professor Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora, Director, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), Government of Bangladesh; and the national spokesperson on Coronavirus was present at the seminar as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Former Chief Information Commissioner, Information Commission, Government of Bangladesh was present as the special guest. Dr. A S M Alamgir, Principal Scientific Officer, IEDCR presented the technical briefing on the latest situation on Coronavirus in the seminar. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the seminar. The seminar was addressed by Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean, FAHS, DIU, Professor Dr. A N Zafar Ullah, Associate Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science, DIU.

3. Daffodil International University arranges Open Seminar for all on Career Prospects in Japan



Daffodil International University arranges Open Seminar for all on Career Prospects in Japan on 30 November, 2019 at the premises of the university. The Daffodil Institute of Languages (DIL) organized the open seminar to encourage young students and youths to come forward to avail the career opportunity provided by Japan. The seminar was open for all and was a successful event in a nutshell.

4. Workshop entitled "Achieving Professional Excellence (APEX)-Inner Personal Development" (Open Access to All)


A day long international workshop entitled "Achieving Professional Excellence (APEX)-Inner Personal Development" was held on November 25, 2019 at Daffodil Tower, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The workshop was open to all irrespective of students, jobholders and professionals of both Daffodil Family and outsiders. The workshop was jointly organized by Daffodil International University (DIU) and Skill.Jobs. The facilitators of the workshop was Advocate Lion Professor Dr. Firdos T. Shroff, Global Motivation Guru and Professor, University of Mumbai.
The workshop covered overview of learnings from holy scriptures, managing stress, holistic personality development, change of mindset, change of attitude, inner peace, communication skills, earnings from management games and movie on TATAS "Keepers of the Flame" for management learnings. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, DIU was the chair of the session. The inaugural session was addressed by Professor Dr. Mohammed Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, DIU.
Around thirty participants were present in the workshop and got the certificate from the facilitators and Honorable Vice-Chancellor of DIU.

5. "Let Create Awareness and Prevent Dengue" (Community Educational Event)


The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Daffodil International University organized a rally on "Let Create Awareness and Prevent Dengue" on 5 August, 2019 in the capital with a view to create awareness among mass people along with encouraging them to keep the surroundings clean to prevent the dengue fever. Professor Dr. Sakhawat Ali Khan, Adviser, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of DIU inaugurated the rally while Mr. Saleem Ahmed, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of DIU was present during the rally. The rally was alos attended by Ms. Shirin Gaffar, Reserved Ward Commissioner (Dhanmondi, Hazaribagh and New market area), Dhaka South City Corporation. The faculty members and students of Daffodil International University undertook various programs to mark the day.

6. Globally Most Popular Solo Public Lecture Program TED Talk titled 'TEDxDaffodilU’ at DIU (Access to Public Lecture)


Globally most popular solo public lecture program TED Talk was held under the title ‘TEDxdaffodilU’ in the 71 Auditorium of Daffodil International University. Organized by Career Development Center (CDC) of DIU, the program was addressed by ten renowned personalities of the country with the theme of ‘The Next: Life and Beyond’. The speakers were Mr. Hossain Khaled, Managing Director of Anwar Group and the youngest President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI), Mr. Quazi M Ahmed, CEO of Future Leaders, Ms. Ayesha Jahan Bibha, Trainer and Consultant, Mr. Ayman Sadiq, Founder of 10minute School, Ms. Kaniz Fatema, Telecom Entrepreneur, Ms. Zaiba, Tahyya, Social Worker, Mr. Masum Akond, Teen Entrepreneur, Mr. Mahfuz Russel, Social Activist, Team Bangladesh, Students of Robotics Olympiad, All Stars Daffodil, Stage Drama Group.

7. Access to DIU Public Lecture Series on Entrepreneurship and Career Development



With the aim to inform and motivate the educated youths of the struggle and challenges faced on route to success by the well-known Executives of the country, Daffodil International University has taken initiative to introduce Academic Lecture Series on Entrepreneurial Role of an Executive. Mr. Md. Arfan Ali, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia Ltd. delivered his first valuable lecture on “Entrepreneurial Role of an Executive” in the series on August 6, 2019 at the university conference room where the educated youths of the city attended. Career Development Center of the university organized the Lecture series.

The university organized 13 more public lecture on industry-academia series which were free to access by the local educated youths to motivate them to be entrepreneurs.

8. Outsiders Access to Daffodil ICT Carnival to Facilitate Innovation and Industrial Growth



2-day ‘Daffodil ICT Carnival 2019’ was organized at DIU Permanent Campus at Ashulia. DIU organizes the ICT Carnival for the students and teachers of various institutions to foster their innovative minds and ideas. The carnival includes competitions, project showcase, smart Hakathon, programming contest, counseling and mentoring, fun events, learning opportunity, networking scope and many more so that every moment of the fest can be enjoyed and utilized with adding value. The winners, best innovators and performers were financially awarded.

The objective of the carnival was to bring all the talents, industries to pick the right opportunity on the same platform so that it gets success in true form. DIU strives to organize it in an innovative, effective and broader way to bring the best outcome from it.
