Policy for Managing Women’s Career Counseling Services

The Career Development Centre (CDC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) has the responsibility to provide counseling services to the students. Within the jurisdiction of CDC Women’s Counseling Program (WCP) is especially designed for ensuring women’s participation and easy access to relevant institutions/ organizations after their graduation. The main task of WCP is to provide overall support to the female students.

  1. The women’s mentoring service will provide guidance for planning their future career path, and improving skills and broaden their networks with the relevant industries.
  2. CDC will identify and invite the relevant organization at DIU on a regular basis for interactions with the female students to acquaint them with the organization’s functions and practices.
  3. The female students both undergraduate and masters who are at their final year will be eligible to apply for participating in the Women’s Mentoring Program.
  4. In collaboration with Directorate of Students’ Affairs of DIU the CDC will be responsible for maintaining the mentoring program targeting career development of women students. At least two events will be arranged each year where all participants of the program will get opportunity to hear from the successful women and industry experts (government high official, higher corporate executive, entrepreneur, etc.).
  5. The mentors and mentees should preferably meet once in every three months or as required, with a minimum of at least two face-to-face meetings during the year along with regular email communication.
  6. The program is not intended to guarantee a job placement but support them to be able to design their future career path and secure a job in their area of expertise.
  7. The Career Development Centre (CDC) will keep record of the counseling services and make a by annual report to the Vice Chancellor of the university.
